Pages: 288 Front to Back Published: 1979 first appearance, 1989 -----------------------------D-E-S-C-R-I-P-T-I-O-N---------------------------- The Spiral Dance has many examples of rituals and so forth. Thus, improving one who is learning or such to understand more how the chants are to be said when made to a more beautiful tone other than a far out tone. Explains the "Goddess" quite well. Talks about where the name "The Spiral Dance" comes from. Towards the end, explains much of the holiday stuff. Such as when they are and what they are called and as well as chants you may use to celebrate those holidays (pagan holidays). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Recommended to all who are learning or those who are already filled with knowledge but are looking for some books that are fun and pleasuring to read. Starhawk has revised her book ... and the latest one can be found for surely in Border Bookstore or possibly from Magus Ltmd. in Dinkytown. Some of the subjects the book gets into are: Witchcraft as a non-dogmatic religion, The misunderstood aspects of black and white magick, The God and Goddess within us, why witches have initia- tions, the future of witchcraft, and many many more. Those were just taken off the back of the book =). It gets into each of the elements as well. Fire, Water, Earth and Air, as well as Aether. Can come in handy if you wish to learn a lot towards being initiated into a coven and what you may need to know towards the beginning of learning magick. Very good book to read. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Recommended to one who is interested in being initiated into a coven. Not such a good book for a solitary practiceneer. Rate 8 1/2 out of 10 ... Overall, it was an easy to understand book, basic wording in many places, though, it did get complicated in few parts. It's a compilation of three Lovecraft stories tied together by a short story involving a character of Lovecraft in the 1930sish. They were interesting - albeit not very scarry. I think some referance was made to Cthulhuh. Fun, slow in some areas, and wont teach you anything about the occult or Lovecraft. Good for a time waster. *teebo --- Renegade v10-05 Exp * Origin: Dissent: Polit/X-Writing-Philosophy (612)432-8870 (13:612/2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Devious To: Big Teebo Subject: Re: Necronomicon Date: Tue Jun 17 19:03:08 CDT 1997 Message number: 4 Reply to message number: unavailable BT> I rented the "Necronomicon: The Book of the Dead" movie today (origional BT> title, eh?). We should have a Get Together at your house and I will rent it this time! I should go check it out! Is it a well written storyline? Or just another "THE CRAFT" type of thrown together movie? You do have a point there. And no, they did not make up their own mythology. Where, within the movie did they have anything to do with mythology? Well, except the religion =) Oh, and yeah, the chicks are hot huh? =) Blessed Be! -Devious --- GEcho 1.00 * Origin: Inner Sanctum [612]552-8169! Pagan Support Board!
